Ribs, Barbecue, Friends, and Family

As I cheerfully bring another full rack of smoked ribs and barbecue to another table of starving country music fans I can't help but notice how everyone is enjoying each others presence. Even with "Merle Haggard" music playing in the background they seem to be focused in on each others conversation as if it has been forever since they have seen each other. I simply smile, place down their order in front of them, and ask if everything is ok. But I know even before I ask that everything is just as it should be.

Friends are great. More than that it is necessary for health to have people around you that deeply care for you. I have been fortunate enough to have many friends like this in my life. I count them as a blessing and am thankful for them and my family.

During the past weeks I have had the opportunity to reconnect with some dear friends that I have not seen it what seems like forever. I can only say that the previous distance between them has been my fault. When there is distance there is several things that are lost that only comes through the sweet connection of presence in someones life.

I am glad that I got to spend some time with these people as we have been able to discuss what God has been doing in our lives. For me, God has been working greatly over the past few years and I have been healed from some situations and wrong decisions that I had made in the past. Decisions that I was even warned about making by these dear friends to which I did nothing but ignore.

I have been able to spend some time with great people like Freddy T. Wyatt, John Mark Hutcheson, Kyle Barrett, and Dr. Cook. There are still a few more that I will be re-connecting with in the days to come. I dearly love all these people and will continue to be grateful for their presence in my life.

I have many more things that I will be sharing with all of you through this blog in the days, weeks, and months to come. I will look forward to letting all of you know about the things God has done in my life and even new places that He is leading me to. And if you are asking if everything is ok, I hope you know that everything is just as it should be. Until then know that I will be thinking of you, and praying and thanking God for you even during times where I bring smoked ribs and barbecue to a great group of starving country music fans.
